Merry Christmas.
This is one of the final opportunities to say so on the radio, so, have a great weekend and Christmas Day.
Heading into Christmas Weekend, I want to wish the Owen Sound Greys good luck tonight.
The Greys play their final Midwestern Junior Hockey League game before a 2 week Christmas Break tonight when they host the Guelph Hurricanes.
Owen Sound is last in the Conference, a position they’ve occupied for most of the last 6 & 1/2 years, but they’re within striking range of a playoff position this year and could claw their way a little closer with another win over Guelph tonight
The Greys have won their last two meetings with the Hurricanes and if they do so again tonight, they’ll hit the Christmas Break just 2 points back of Kitchener for the final playoff spot in the MidWest.
The challenges and struggles for the Greys have been well documented, and in fairness, they have to deal with an awful lot on a day to day, year to year basis.
And yet, they hang in there, they compete to the best of their ability and for that, they deserve praise and admiration, especially at this time of the year.
So Merry Christmas, Peace on Earth and to the Greys…..cream Guelph tonight.
I’m Fred Wallace
