The Grey Cup, the 99th Championship of the Canadian Football League will be played Sunday night at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver,
The British Columbia Lions, Western Division Champions will meet the Eastern winners, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The route to the Championship Game has been amazingly streaky for both clubs.
The Blue Bombers, located in ” Swaggerville “, smoked their opponents winning 7 of their first 8, and their lone defeat was by 1 point to Calgary.
However, from September through the end of the regular season, Winnipeg won just 3 of their last 10 games.
The Lions, by comparison, lost their first 5 games, and 6 of their first 7 including both matches against the Bombers.
But from mid-August onward, BC won 10 of 11 regular season games and will attempt to become the first CFL team to win the Grey Cup at home since 1994.
The trend is always your friend, and BC’s trend is definitely hotter than Winnipeg’s now.
But keep in mind, this is the CFL, where the unexpected is a regular fact of life, and in a one game showdown for the championship, the Blue Bombers have a 50-50 shot at capturing the Grey Cup
