Here we go with the Friday ” Grab Bag ” edition of this segment, since we’ve got a lot of topics to potentially examine.
We’ll start by wishing the Saugeen District Royals good luck today against JF Ross of Guelph in the CWOSSA Football semifinal
If Saugeen District wins today, they’ll host the CWOSSA Championship Final early next week, again in Port Elgin.
Congratulations to the Owen Sound Fastpitch Association on receiving the hosting rights for the 2012 Canadian Junior Men’s Fastball Championship Tournament.
Owen Sound has hosted this event twice in the not-too-distant past, and along with other National and Provincial Fastball tournaments at Duncan McLellan Park, they’ve established the city as a destination for elite fastball.
More Congratulations to Brandon McMillen, undrafted, yet heading to the National Lacrosse League nonetheless with the Colorado Mammoth, a team with a very distinct Owen Sound makeup.
The Attack get London in a big home & home Ontario Hockey League series this weekend, with the opener tomorrow night at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore
Congratulations to Chris Bigras of the Attack on being selected for the Ontario Under 17 Hockey team for the World Challenge next month at Windsor.
However, I have to admit I’m astounded that Zach Nastasiuk wasn’t chosen to be among the forwards, but…..
Ooops, we’re out of time.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Festival of Northern Lights & Santa Claus Parade
I’m Fred Wallace
