The Grey Bruce Major Curling League had games last night at Paisley and at Tara.
The scores from the games last night are posted along with the updated standings at
Among the interesting items to pop up this week pertaining to curling in our region came from Kate Hamer who is playing in the Grey Bruce League with the Curtis Cassidy rink
The Grey Bruce League serves as a great primer to the players involved for a variety of Provincial competitions.
In Kate Hamer’s case, that will be in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts playdown for a rink that will be skipped by Leslie Bishop and will represent the Port Elgin Curling Club.
Previously, Bishop has been to the Canadian Mixed Final and comes to the Port Elgin club along with Courtney Davies and Stephanie LeDrew.
LeDrew has also been the the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts playing for the Shelley Nichols rink out of Newfoundland-Labrador.
I can’t remember the last time Zone 11 had a Scotties Tournament of Hearts playdown, let alone a rink with a chance to advance.
The Leslie Bishop rink for the Port Elgin Curling Club will get their opportunity to follow that competitive path beginning in mid=December
