July is the highlight month this year at Hanover Raceway.
Without question the signature event each & every year at the track is the Dream of Glory Final, a $ 100,000 race where the winner pockets half the purse, all of which is followed by a spectacular fireworks show.
That’s not to say there aren’t significant events along the way, like Saturday night when the Ontario Sire Stakes return to Hanover Raceway
Tomorrow night there will be four Sire Stakes Grassroots division races for the two-year-old trotting colts with $24,000 in purse money on the line in each of those races.
Naturally, for a regional operation like Hanover Raceway, there’s always greater interest on the entries from our area.
For example, in Race 2, the McNair Family of Walkerton have ” Have Happy Trails Sonny ” entered with Randy Fritz driving
Meanwhile, Kaye Laverty of Sauble Beach is the owner of ” JLs Time’s R Good ” who will run in the 4th, and also owns ” Bliss Little Duke ” who competes in the 6th.
One other note regarding the card Saturday is that fans can participate in the ” Win The Thrill ” promotion by filling out a ballot that could eventually lead them to a share in the Standardbred Breeders of Ontario Association New Owner Mentoring program.
Post time tomorrow night is 7:20 at Hanover Raceway.
