Just like that, we are in the heart of fastball season with significant results to review and significant events to preview.
Looking back, the Wiarton Red Devils won the O.A.S.A. Midget Elimination Tournament at Napanee on the weekend, whitewashing Stratford in the Sudden Death Final.
Aaron McCaw keyed the Championship victory for Wiarton with a grand slam against Stratford, while Travis Jones of the Red Devils was selected as the top pitcher in the tournament.
With the win, Wiarton will be listed as Ontario 1 at the 2011 Canadian Midget Fastball Championship Tournament.
That event runs August 8th to 14th at Fredericton, New Brunswick
While the Red Devils were winning at Napanee, the Owen Sound Selects had 2 entries competing at the Kitchener Legends Tournament.
The Brick Brothers Volkswagen Junior Selects won their divisional championship while the Verge Investment Senior Selects advanced to the final 4 before being eliminated by Jarvis.
Ahead this weekend, the Ontario Junior Championship Tournament will be hosted by Brick Brothers beginning Friday afternoon at 3 pm at the Duncan McLellan Park.
And then later this summer, the Verge Investment Selects will host the Canadian Men’s Championship Tournament August 28th to September 4th
