I know this is a tad dated, but it’s still a good story, year after year.
The Owen Sound Grade 7 & Grade 8 Invitational Track & Field Meet was last week at West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound
Without question, the star of the show was Thomas Brown in Grade 7 Boys Division.
Brown, a student at Hillcrest in Owen Sound, won 5 different events and established a new meet record in Grade 7 Triple Jump at 9.62 metres.
Along with the record in the triple jump, Brown was also the fastest in the 200 metres, the 400 metres, the 800 metres and the 1500 metres in the Grade 7 Boys competition.
Other names of note at the meet where Ashlee Lawrence of Hillcrest, Robin Fuller & Nick Feero in the Grade 8 Boys competition plus Morgan Williamson & Joanne Diemert in the Grade 7 Girls Division.
Lawrence won 3 races in the Grade 8 Girls division, Fuller & Feero took first in 2 events each in the Grade 8 Boys and Williamson and Diemert were also multiple event winners among the Grade 7 Girls
Everything about the meet was fast, except for our reporting the results.
