The first weekend in May is a busy one on a variety of fronts.
The defending Ontario Senior Lacrosse Champion Owen Sound Quantum Properties Woodsmen open their season tonight at Elora and then continue on the road tomorrow night at Brooklin.
Hang in there lacrosse fans, sometime this month the Woodies and NorthStars will have a home date
The Owen Sound Selects Fastball teams open their Senior & Junior Training Camps this weekend at Harrison Field
Big dates to remember, Canada Day Weekend for the Ontario Junior Championship Tournament and then August 28th to September 4th for Canadian Men’s Championship tournament.
The 31st annual Georgian Triangle Spring Trout derby wraps up tomorrow in Owen Sound Harbour and along the Georgian Triangle Shoreline.
Hanover Raceway opens for the season tomorrow night at 7:15 pm. Looking forward to that.
And even though we’re at the climax of the Ontario Hockey League season here in Owen Sound, next year also commences tomorrow with the OHL Priority Selection.
The Attack will pick 20th overall and somehow, unlike the last three years, I highly doubt Owen Sound’s pick this year will be in attendance at the Bayshore at the moment he’s drafted.
That’s a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
