The Owen Sound Greys Hockey Club will be holding a Spring Evaluation Camp on Saturday April 16th.
The Camp begins Saturday morning at 10:30 and runs to 9 pm at the Owen Sound Coliseum.
The Greys are conducting the camp in order to identify and evaluate elite level players for the Junior Hockey season next Fall.
By their own admission, the Greys will tell you the last half decade has been a struggle, on the ice, in terms of their record, and certainly off the ice, as they took a recent one year sabbatical in order to re-organize.
Last year marked the return from the sabbatical and there were obvious challenges in terms of recruiting and maintaining a full roster.
But the desire to operate and the desire to compete remains for the Greys.
And why not ?
The program certainly was a benefit for forward Keegan Ackerland. And in fairness, he was a bonus for the Greys.
The progression by defender Curtis MacDermid was noticeable & should put him in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack next year.
So the Greys move forward to the next season, coaching staff and team vision firmly in place
What remains to be seen is how much support they get from players in Grey & Bruce beginning with the Evaluation Camp April 16th.
