Today is ” International Bozo on the Internet ” Day, a special day in which we recognize the massive number of doofus’, or doofi, who litter the cyber world with their mental incapacity.
We chose today to mark the occasion, since this is in fact the first anniversary of the non-firing of Owen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray and Attack coach Mark Reeds.
The Kitchener Record, ( or was it the Guelph Mercury ? ), in an all knowing blog, reported, ” heads will roll in Owen Sound on Monday ” , written exactly one year ago after the Attack missed the 2010 OHL playoffs.
Naturally, the local clowns and comedians on Electric Ice RAN with it, giving the story a life of it’s own.
Of course, the story was inaccurate from the get-go, but the fiasco and the follow up was both laughable and sad.
Like the time the Guelph Mercury, ( or was it the KW Record ? ), in an all knowing blog, reported the Attack were on the verge of trading Joey Hishon to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Sandlak, Mitchell, Menard & Tresham.
…………………..Come on. Mitchell DeGray wouldn’t make that trade, let alone his father !!
Yet once again, the sky was falling in Owen Sound according to the all-knowing outside world, and the local Henny Penny’s ate it up and posted their own thoughts on the deal.
Except, as you know, there was no deal.
I know, I know, it’s a sign of contemporary North America, where fact is no more important than utter fiction, and accountability is as relevant as the Beta Disc Player, and so today, and from this day forward, we celebrate every year at this time, ” International Bozo on the Internet Day. “
