For a third consecutive year, an SCTA Playoff hockey tournament comes to the city of Owen Sound.
Starting tomorrow, the Grey Bruce Highlander Peewees will be the host team for the ten team SCTA Championship which will be conducted at both the Coliseum and the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center.
Play at the Coliseum begins at 9:30 tomorrow while the first game at the Bayshore is at 10 am.
The 10 teams are divided into two pools of 5 teams based on their final standings in the regular season.
Each team will play a round robin series of games, one each against each team in their pool.
There are 10 games Friday, 10 more Saturday at the 2 venues.
At the completion of the round robin, the top 2 teams in each pool advance to a crossover semifinal game Sunday afternoon at the Bayshore
The first place finisher in Pool A meets the # 2 team in Pool B, while the Pool B round robin winner goes against the # 2 team in Pool A.
The winners of the two semifinal games Sunday afternoon earn the right to represent the SCTA and advance to the Ontario Peewee Championship Tournament.
As mentioned, the SCTA has been in Owen Sound previously with the Midget Championship two years ago and the Minor Bantam Tournament last year, so obviously the Highlanders and Owen Sound has evolved as solid hosting venue for such a significant Minor Hockey Tournament
