Over the course of a couple of midweek days, the CWOSSA Curling Championships were staged at the Markdale Curling Club and climaxed at Owen Sound Blue Water yesterday afternoon.
Norwell District beat Liz Potter of Chesley for the Girls title while St James of Guelph won the Boys Final
The winning skips now head to Thunder Bay for the OFSAA Championship next month.
Meanwhile at the Coliseum this week, there were two significant high school hockey games.
One was the Bluewater Girls Championship, won by the West Hill Lady Raiders who blanked the Kincardine Knights 1-0 to take the crown.
The other was a semifinal in the Boys Division, where West Hill nipped Kincardine 4-3 for the right to advance to the Bluewater Final against the Sacred Heart Crusaders of Walkerton.
The Greys played a makeup game last night, losing 5-3 to Listowel on a pair of late Cyclone goals, and will conclude their season tomorrow night when they host Brantford.
Plus the Junior C tams in Hanover & Walkerton plus the WOAA Senior clubs at Lucknow and Saugeen Shores are in a pivotal part of their respective playoff seasons.
