Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
In two weeks, the Bluewater Fastball League commences play with a doubleheader in Owen Sound as the Selects host the Durham Dodgers at Duncan McLellan Park.
The May 24th doubleheader between the Dodgers and Selects launches a 3 and a half month stretch in which 9 teams from the region will compete.
Owen Sound actually has 2 entries in the Bluewater League this season, as a Junior team will also compete out of Duncan McLellan Park.
Along with the two Owen Sound entries and the Durham Dodgers, the league will also feature the Chepstow Aces, the Elmwood Smoke, Port Elgin Blue Devils, the Saugeen Thunderbirds, the Tara Merchants and the Wiarton Nationals.
As mentioned, play starts two weeks from tonight and the regular season will conclude on September 1st in Chepstow when the Aces face Tara.
A week later in Chepstow, from the 9th to the 11th of September, the annual playoff tournament will be staged to crown the Bluewater Fastball Champions.
I’m Fred Wallace
