No shortage of topics today
The Owen Sound Greys are at Stratford tonight to meet the Cullitons in the backend of their home & home series.
Stratford, who lead the Midwestern Junior League, beat the Greys 5-4 in overtime Wednesday night in Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Attack open an OHL home & home with the Storm tonight in Guelph. Did I mention…..? I guess I did
The Career Horizons Grey Bruce Major Curling League had 3 upset winners advance to the final 4 which is set for Sunday morning at Chesley
# 8 seed Dave Cobean, # 7 Steve Gregg & # 5 Al Hutchinson all scored upset wins, and earned the right to join # 3 seed Curtis Cassidy on the final day at the Chesley Curling Club
And the biggest local sporting news that popped up yesterday was the confirmation that the Owen Sound Woodsmen will operate in Senior Lacrosse for 2011.
The Woodies were in jeopardy of folding when they lost their two major sponsors after the 2010 season concluded.
However, through some diligent groundwork, the Woodsmen managed to find a variety of smaller supporters & are close to meeting their financial target of $ 15,000.
Certainly the Woodsmen are thankful for the support and we wish them well in the next phase of operation as they prepare for the 2011 O.L.A. Senior Lacrosse season.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
