The Owen Sound Attack are back home after their Eastern road swing and now they prepare for the final home and home of the regular season this weekend against Guelph.
Have I mentioned before the Attack have 6 home & home series this year ?
Did I mention that the Attack start ALL SIX series on the road ??
Did I also mention that in 2 cases, the home and home series is actually for the opponent, as the Attack had another game against another opponent JAMMED in the middle of the home & home, while the home & home opponent got the middle night off and THEN came to Owen Sound for the backend of the home & home???
If you’re counting, the home & home sequence equates to 14 games this year, including the two sandwich games, which in turn equates to more than 1/5th of the regular season.
So let’s count.
Owen Sound split with Guelph, swept Barrie & beat Kitchener in the sandwich game, split with Sarnia, split with Kitchener and beat Erie in the sandwich game and swept Barrie most recently.
The tally relates that Owen Sound is 9 & 3 to this point.
You’re right, that’s pretty good.
You’re likely thinking Owen Sound should do this more often.
Are you nuts ?
To me, Owen Sound’s record in the home & home this year indicates the Attack have a good team and are above average on the road.
In an off year, a schedule like this, loaded with front-end travel and multiple home & home games, would be a disaster, and Owen Sound cannot let the schedule maker have a repeat performance.
