It’s an American weekend more or less, with hockey stops at Plymouth & Saginaw, Michigan and then to Sault Ste Marie, which based on it’s proximity to the U.S. border, has a heavy American influence.
And while hockey is the primary activity of the weekend, there’s very little doubt that you’re in another country when you see the large dosage of American football everywhere you look
This week has been an interesting week for the NFL with firings, fights and God all being tackled by the coverage.
As it pertains to God, Buffalo Bills receiver Stevie Johnson, who dropped a potential game-winning touchdown in the end zone in overtime against the Steelers, wondered on social media how God could fail him at that moment.
On his Twitter account, Johnson’s input was, ” I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO…
I think everyone knows I’m not the most religious guy in the county. It’s a choice.
Going to church, being Christian, or worshipping to your chosen God, is good for the soul, I don’t dispute that.
But going to church, being Christian or worshipping your chosen God, is certainly not a guarantee that you’ll be a better person, or a better football player.
Stevie Johnson is a receiver with religious convictions, but it was he who dropped the ball & not God.
