I can’t speak for you, but I almost wish the current plight of the Miami Heat in the NBA would happen with more frequency and extend for lengthy periods of time.
I don’t follow pro basketball with a great deal of interest, but you’d have to be on another planet to not know Miami loaded up with superstars in the off season.
Already the home for superstar Dwayne Wade, the Heat used vast financial resources, political persuasion and who-knows-what-else to convince LeBron James & Chris Bosh to join their roster in the off season creating a superstar laden club.
In the beginning, it was bothersome to see NBA centres in Cleveland and Toronto stripped of their marquee attractions; King James from the Cavaliers and Bosh from the Raptors
But a funny thing happened to the Heat on their way to a perfect season.
After losing to Orlando on Wednesday night, Superstar Inc is barely above .500 at 8 & 7, 2 & 1/2 games back of the Magic for first in the Southeast Division.
In fairness, almost everybody who does follow the NBA believes firmly it’s a matter of time and a matter of jelling before Miami is truly rolling and wiping out the NBA landscape.
Me, I’d much rather see them rumble & stumble along, perplexingly trying to find the magic touch that has eluded them to this point on what is now a 3 game losing streak.
It’s almost poetic when big bucks in big time sports garner puny returns.
I’m Fred Wallace
