Okay, where do you start this weekend, one in which they flip the switch on the Festival of Northern Lights in Owen Sound & Santa Claus comes to town ?
Actually, over in Port Elgin, the Saugeen District Royals will be getting out of town, heading to Brantford to meet Assumption College in the CWOSSA Football Championship.
The Bluewater Champion Royals who blanked St Mary’s for the regional title now face a Brantford squad who are coming off a highly emotional, if not somewhat draining, semifinal overtime victory at Guelph on Tuesday.
If the Royals win, they advance to the Western Bowl Final November 24th at the Rogers Center
Plus, it’s obviously a hockey weekend at every level.
Among the games will be the annual Junior C All Star Game at Alliston.
The Western Junior C All Stars face the Georgian MidOntario Junior C All Stars.
There’s a Prospects Game at 1:30 followed by the All Star game at 3 PM.
The winner of the All Star game also wins home ice advantage for their league when the OHA Quarterfinals commence, usually in late March.
Big weekend for the Saugeen District Royals, Junior C Hockey players, and for holiday festivals & Santa Claus.
