It’s been quite a week for Christian Aumell of St Mary’s High School.
Recently, he ” won ” the right be a guest of a Bayshore Broadcasting Morning Show through the Kiwanis Celebrity Auction.
In truth, he drastically overpaid for the experience, blowing hundreds of dollars, but still supporting the many community minded projects of the Kiwanis.
As part of the morning, Christian did the NFL scores and worked his way into doing a full 5 minute sportscast plus the sports tees for the remainder of the day
In all honesty, for a first timer, Christian was very good on air, and his future plan to attend Ryerson, the vaunted institution that has turned out so many spectacular announcers, seems like a sound decision.
But fact of the matter is, Christian Aumell, with his broadcasting debut behind him, now has a vastly tougher challenge in front of him.
Aumell is the quarterback of the unbeaten St Mary’s Mustangs who will host the defending champion Saugeen District Royals tomorrow in the Bluewater Football Championship.
It’s a rare year that championship game isn’t in Port Elgin, and as leader of the offense, Aumell knows he and his mates have a chance to snap an impressive streak of Royal Championships.
But Christian Aumell knows the task of beating Saugeen District for the Bluewater Championship will be far stiffer than reading the scores the morning after on Bayshore Broadcasting.
