It’s been an interesting week in the Ontario Hockey League with both Ottawa & Oshawa hosting morning games.
Monday, the 67’s lost 4-2 to the Kingston Frontenacs in front of a crowd dominated by school kids.
Yesterday, the Generals had a similar game when they lost 4-1 to the St Mike’s Majors.
( I don’t think the OHL was keen about the 6 fights yesterday……)
St Mike’s & Saginaw are other OHL clubs who have conducted similar morning games.
Will we ever have one in Owen Sound ?
It would be cool, and it would be well supported by the Bluewater Athletic Association, I’m sure, but geography & cost would be factors, so I doubt Owen Sound will consider implementing a morning match.
Having said that, I think it might be shrewd on Owen Sound’s part to be the visiting team for such a match.
Having your travel expense looked after by the hosting club and potentially combining your morning road game with an existing road swing, of which Owen Sound has 5 to 6 each year, might be a smart manoeuvre.
But for now, I doubt the Attack have placed into any morning games when they have opportunistic matches ahead tonight at home to Barrie and then at Erie this weekend.
