What we have ahead is a ” Kitchener Sandwich “.
The Owen Sound Attack, after a sequence of 3 straight OHL weekends in which they were away Friday and then home Saturday, now transition into a phase where they play 3 in 3 for the first time on the season.
The 3 on 3 starts tonight at Barrie against the Colts and ends Saturday night in Owen Sound when the Colts return for a rematch at the J.D. McArthur.
In between, is the ” Ranger Sandwich ” of the equation, as Owen Sound will be at Kitchener Friday night for their second meeting of the year against their Midwest Division rivals.
An interesting point of discussion here would be which of the three games is the most important.
I’d agree with those who say the sandwich game against the Rangers is more vital since Owen Sound & Kitchener are currently battling for first place in the division and the Attack will be out to prove their 4-0 victory October 2nd was not a fluke.
But I’d also agree with anyone who suggested the Barrie bookend games are more significant, especially in a year in which the Colts were in a major overhaul of their personnel.
If Owen Sound can dominate a far weaker than normal Barrie outfit and if Niagara can run the table against Erie, then the potential swing in points for Owen Sound as opposed to Erie could be as much as 24.
I guess this is where the cliche takes precedent, and I agree, ” they’re all important games, and you gotta play them one at a time- Barrie, Kitchener & then Barrie again. “
