The Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars always seem to take the hard way.
Today, the NorthStars will make the lengthy trek to Windsor for the 5th and deciding game in their OLA Junior B Lacrosse Playoff series against the Clippers.
The eventful best of 5 playoff is tied at 2 wins apiece, which comes as no surprise to any of the participants.
Windsor coach Greg Ducharme believes the teams are evenly matched in almost every category and Game 5 will be determined by the better team and likely the harder working team tonight.
NorthStars coach Shawn Kazarian also expressed little surprise the series is going the distance, pointing out Windsor is a top 3 seed and his team has been every bit as good in a series that has had many changes in momentum.
Kazarian did admit he, and his club, were disappointed in not being able to finish the Clippers on home floor Sunday night in front of a large crowd, losing a 3-2 lead and failing to capitalize on a lengthy power play midway through the match.
But it’s been that kind of a season and that kind of a series for the NorthStars who win when it’s unexpected and lose when you expect them to win.
What are the expectations for tonight ?
According to both sides, it will be close, and the hope in Owen Sound is that the NorthStars take the hard way again into the Western Conference semifinals.
I’m Fred Wallace
