The National Hockey League Entry Draft goes this weekend in Los Angeles.
Everyone, with even an inkling of hockey interest, knows only too well, it’s the Taylor-Tyler or Tyler-Taylor Show. Take your pick.
And the Edmonton Oilers with first pick overall will select either Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires or Tyler Sequin of the Plymouth Whalers.
The Boston Bruins, with the Leafs pick, get the residue, and can barely contain their enthusiasm.
I’ve been asked many times since October, if I had first pick, who would I take.
The answer, with no offence to Sequin, would be Taylor Hall with zero hesitation.
The draft also brings a spotlight around to the Owen Sound Attack.
If you believe everything you hear, 5 Attack players will be selected.
Alphabetically, the suggestion is that the 5 could be Roman Berdnikov, Joey Hishon, Geoffrey Schemitsch, Steven Shipley and Jason Wilson.
I say the number will be less than 5, but the needs of NHL teams are up to their General Managers and scouts, and certainly out of my realm of influence.
I’m Fred Wallace
