I want to do an advancer today for an event, actually a sequence of events, that are taking place in Flesherton at Grey Highlands Secondary School.
For those of you of Scottish heritage, Flesherton is the place to be, with young rugby players from Perth Academy in Scotland in the village for a couple of days.
The Perth Academy visit to Grey Highlands is the back end of a marvellous international exchange with rugby as the centrepiece.
Back in March, the Grey Highlands Lions Boys Rugby squad went on a junket through the United Kingdom and among their stops was Perth Academy.
Not only was there a rugby game between the two sides, there was also a tremendous cultural display presented and now, several months later Grey Highlands wants to return the display.
The highlight of the day tomorrow is a rugby game between the Scottish lads and Grey Highlands.
For the record, this is a rematch, Perth Academy won the game on home turf in March.
And once the game is completed, there will be a dinner followed by the annual Grey Highlands Athletic Banquet and then a social gathering to conclude the night.
Flesherton isn’t the biggest spot on the Grey County map, but the biggest sporting event of the day tomorrow is certainly at Grey Highlands.
I’m Fred Wallace
