These are busy times.
In the last 3 days we’ve had ISC Fastball, Tim Hortons Camp Day, CrimeStoppers Golf and today it’s a big day in Owen Sound with the Cops for Cancer Shaveoffs.
Between sporting events and community activities, it means I’ll be perfectly burned out and ready to veg on the couch tonight when Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final goes in Philadelphia.
To this point, the Championship has been terrific, the Chicago Blackhawks lead the Flyers 2 games to 1 with every game being decided by just 1 goal.
Saturday was shootout night, with the Hawks winning 6-5.
The defences tightened for game 2 on Monday, another Chicago 1 goal win, this time 2-1 with Ben Eager, the most unlikely of clutch goal scorers getting the winner.
Wednesday night in Philadelphia, on Video Review Night, the Flyers won on home ice in overtime 4-3 on Claude Giroux’s re-direct and the complexion of the series changed immediately.
Had the Hawks won Wednesday in overtime, this series would have been 3-0 Chicago and while Philadelphia has done the miracle comeback once, I doubt anyone will repeat for decades.
That’s why I’m anxious to do nothing but watch Game 4 of the Stanley Cup tonight .
I’m Fred Wallace
