Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final goes tonight as the Blackhawks and Flyers resume play, this time at Philadelphia.
The Blackhawks lead the best of 7; 2-0.
We’ll see if a change in venue means changes anywhere else in the NHL Final.
Meanwhile on a less grand stage, in Elora tonight, there’s a pretty significant Junior B Lacrosse game.
The Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars are in against the Mohawks in a Midwest Division game.
The NorthStars are 8-3 & 1 heading into the game, which is the final regular season matchup between the two MidWest Division rivals, which makes the outcome even more important.
The Owen Sound record, in fairness, has been accomplished by a sturdy home stand as they’ve played 8 of their 12 games on home floor.
Among those games, 3 went to overtime which indicates the level of parity in the Western Conference, and maybe, just maybe, leaves Owen Sound lamenting points that got away; 2 to London and another to Orangeville.
But what is past is past, and the rubber hits the road for the NorthStars who play 6 of their final 8 games away from the J.D. McArthur Arena.
And while it doesn’t meet the Stanley Cup level in terms of North American prominence, the NorthStars-Mohawk game is key nonetheless.
