This is a busy hockey week with Junior Playoffs, NHL stretch runs, the annual SMHLPA Tourney here in Owen Sound, plus a significant Minor Hockey event in the Blue Mountains.
Thornbury and the Beaver Valley Minor Hockey Association are hosting the 2010 Georgian Bay All Star Hockey Games this weekend.
Both Rep teams and Local League teams in the Georgian Bay Association will be participating.
Each center will send players in each age category, and teams will be formed for the All Star Celebration.
Close to 20 Minor Hockey Centres in the Georgian Bay Association, which stretches from Owen Sound over to Coldwater, and as far south as Grand Valley, will be represented with players from Tyke to Midget in age divisions.
The Rep Team all star games will be Friday beginning at 10 am with the Novice contest
On Saturday, the Local League All Stars will begin play at 10 am in the Tyke Division and play continues through the afternoon.
For those involved on the ice, and those coordinating the activity, this weekend sequence of games is every bit as significant as the NHL games ahead on Easter Weekend.
