The end of August and we have an OHL game tonight in Owen Sound.
Where else can watch the Attack & St Mike’s and then zip around the bay to see the Red Rascal Band play in the derby tent at the Salmon Spectacular ?
And for those who are really lucky & very gifted at golf, you can make it a triactor as the BAGS Junior Golf Tour has their Champion of Champions Day at the Georgian Bay Club today.
As the title suggests, any player who won a stop on the 2009 BAGS Junior Tour, or finished in the top 3 in their Order of Merit, gains a spot in today in the Tour Finale.
Overall, organizers anticipate just over 30 youngsters in 5 different age groups will get the opportunity to play on the exclusive Georgian Bay tract.
Would the Georgian Bay Club be the perennial home for the Bags Champion of Champions Day ?
The organizers admit that playing a yearly wrap up tournament at the Georgian Bay Club would be terrific.
But by the same token, for the sake of variety, for the sake of avoiding being seen as repetitive, the BAGS Tour would be thrilled to have their major event stop at Cobble Beach, or Barrie Golf & Country, or Mad River or any one of a dozen exceptional courses that surround Georgian Bay.
So for today, the best young golfers around the bay will compete at the Georgian Bay Club.
And then maybe they’ll watch the Attack and wrap the day at the Salmon Spectacular.
That would be quite a Monday.
