I know Christmas is a few days away, but since there’s always a ” Christmas in August ” Promotion, I got thinking about things I’d really like.
Curiously enough, a lot of my Summer Christmas wishes are related to the Owen Sound OHL franchise.
What would I like, as it pertains to the Attack ?
First, beat Kitchener.
I know, that’s an annual wish, but did you know the Rangers have won 8 straight in Owen Sound ?
Next, finish ahead of Guelph in the standings. This might be a tall order too considering Guelph has a very good nucleus.
But here’s the thing; since 1993/94, how many times has Owen Sound finished ahead of Guelph ?……Once. Once !!
Wish # 3, win games at Belleville.
In 20 years of Plater & Attack trips to Belleville, Owen Sound has won 2 games. Two !!
And finally, since I don’t want Santa to think I’m a greedy guy, win a playoff game.
I fully expect Owen Sound to be in the 2010 playoffs, and when that time arrives, it will be four years since our last playoff victory.
I know Christmas is a long way away, but OHL Hockey isn’t that far off and those are my initial wishes for the season.
