Harvick Wins in Atlanta
NASCAR Points leader Kevin Harvick won the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway yesterday.
Harvick cruised across the finish line ahead of Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr.
It's Harvick's second win since NASCAR returned from the shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Reche Caldwell Shot
Former NFL receiver Reche Caldwell was fatally shot Saturday night in Florida.
Caldwell's mother was informed by police that her son was ambushed outside his home in a possible robbery attempt.
Caldwell was awaiting sentencing this month after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, along with several other former NFL players.
Canada West Cancels
U Sports and Canada West will announce the cancellation of all fall sports in 2020 today.
Canada West has a challenge with school athletic programs in 4 different provinces under their jurisdiction.
The OUA and RSEQ, the governing bodies for university sports in Ontario and Quebec respectively, may find a way to play within their own borders
McGregor Retires ( Again )
UFC star Conor McGregor has announced his retirement.
For McGregor, this is the 3rd time in 4 years he's ” retired “, so the announcement is being met with some scepticism.
In January, McGregor who is 22 & 4 in the UFC, returned after a lengthy absence with an impressive first-round stoppage of Donald ” Cowboy ” Cerrone at UFC 246.
UFC President Dana White has already said McGregor is next in line for a title shot at the lightweight championship
NHL Facilities Open
National Hockey League teams can open their training facilities today for voluntary training in small groups.
The NHL hopes to start full training camps as early as July 10th, which is known as Phase 3 of their return-to-play plan.
The NHL Players Association & the league still have to negotiate roster sizes for a resumption of play and the current suggestion from the NHL is to have 28 players per team

The Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Year Award is scheduled to be presented today.
Nico Daws of the Guelph Storm is the Ontario Hockey League nominee
In 2017, the award was won by Michael McNiven of the Owen Sound Attack.
Pearson Wins Bearadio Showdown
The Best of Bearadio Showdown Championship on the Owen Sound Attack Twitter account was won by Kaleb Pearson's overtime goal March 5th at Windsor
Pearson's clip from Bearadio on 560 CFOS was selected as the best in a twitter poll over 31 other candidates including Petrus Palmu's overtime goal in Game 5 of the 2016 playoffs at London, which finished 2nd in the bracket challenge.
Barons Add Haffner
The Hanover Barons of the Provincial Junior Hockey League have announced that Thomas Haffner is their new Assistant General Manager.
As a player, the 22 year Haffner played for the Mount Forest Patriots in the Pollock Division plus most recently was a defenceman for the Tavistock Braves
