The Owen Sound Attack are inching closer to locking up a playoff spot.
Kaleb Pearson scored twice as the Attack toppled the Flint Firebirds 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League action at the Dort Federal Event Center Wednesday night.
Aidan Dudas, Brady Lyle and Adam McMaster also scored for the Attack (29-22-4-4), which extended its points streak to four games.
Dudas' goal was his 200th career point in the OHL.
Jack Wismer and Braeden Kressler supplied the offence for Flint (39-20-1-1), which lost its second straight.
Mack Guzda made 34 saves in the win, while Anthony Popovich stopped 32 taking the loss. Owen Sound outshot Flint 37-36 while going 0 for 4 on the power play; the Firebirds finished 0 for 2.
The Attack move within four points of the Guelph Storm for sixth in the Western Conference with the win. Guelph lost to the Erie Otters 4-3 last night.
