The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks have found the win column in their WOAA Senior Hockey best-of-7 quarter-final with the Tillsonburg Thunder.
The Hawks scored two power play goals and four full strength goals to down the Thunder, 6-4.
The Thunder still lead the series, 2-games-to-1.
Miles MacLean picked up two goals on the night for the Hawks as did Brent MacDermid.
Singles went to Lauchlin Elder and Blake Underwood.
Winterhawks coach Matt Turcotte says they changed their game plan a bit and it seemed to limit the chances Tillsonburg had.
The Thunder scored two power play goals; a shorthanded goal and a full strength marker.
Hawks goalie Jeff Flagler suffered a “lower body injury” in the second period but stayed in for the entire game and should be ready for the next game.
The next game comes Sunday in Tillsonburg.
Gametime is 7pm.
The next home game will feature the 5th game in the series, Friday, February 21st at the Plex.
Gametime is 8:30pm.
