A 29-year-old woman faces numerous charges, following a brief police chase in Barrie
Police began following a truck being driven erratically in the Innisfil Street area yesterday morning, but the driver took off, forcing officers to pursue the vehicle until it was eventually stopped in the area of Anne and Vespra streets.
The female driver was taken into custody on charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, breach of probation, and driving while under suspension.
Police said on Twitter that her first words were, “I didn’t think you guys were arresting people anymore”.
She will appear in court for a bail hearing today.
This morning, after stealing a vehicle, an offender was transported to #BarriePolice Headquarters to continue the investigation. Her first words were, "I didn't think you guys were arresting people anymore". Won't she be surprised when she gets a court date too.! #CrimeDoesntPay pic.twitter.com/SNqAdTuA0f
