Another overtime thriller but this time it went in the Colts’ favour.
Justin Scott had four goals including the final three for Barrie as the Colts beat the Mississauga Steelheads 6-5 in overtime Thursday night in the OHL playoffs.
With the Steelheads up 1-0, Andrew Mangiapane (short-handed) and Scott responded for the Colts to go up 2-1 after the 1st period.
Mississauga regained the lead in the 2nd period on goals by Daniel Muzito-Begenda and Mike McLeod only to have Rasmus Andersson tied it up for the Colts at 3-3.
The Steelheads capitalized on a pair of 5-on-3 power plays early in the 3rd period to go up 5-3 before Scott put in two for the Colts to tie the game up at 5-5 and send it to overtime.
Muzito-Begenda and Alexander Nylander each had two goals for the Steelheads.
David Ovsjannikov got the start in place of the injured Mackenzie Blackwood and made 29 saves for the Colts.
Jack Flinn had 38 in the loss for the Steelheads.
Mississauga did go 3-for-6 on the power play while Barrie did not score on their only opportunity.
The best-of-seven is tied at 2-2 with Game 5 Saturday night in Barrie.
