The dream of a young pitcher from Goderich is to eventually play for the Toronto Blue Jays.
If everything works out — Brock Dykxhoorn could be wearing the uniform of the Cincinnati Reds in the future.
16 year-old pitcher Brock Dykxhoorn of Goderich has been selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Brock is 6-foot-8 and already has a blazing 90 mile-per-hour fastball.
The student at St. Anne’s Secondary School in Clinton will attend Central Arizona University to study business administration while taking part in their baseball program.
He has also spent time with the Canadian National baseball team.
Brock was taken by the Reds in the 20th round of the draft and has been looked at by several other Major League ballclubs.
