It’s expected Owen Sound Attack center Andrew Shaw will miss Game 6 of the OHL Championship Series.
Shaw incurred a match penalty for roughing late in the 3rd period of Game 5 and is facing a suspension from the OHL in light of a punch that struck Chris DeSousa of St Mike’s.
On the play, Shaw was initially fouled by Rob Flick of St Mike’s
As Shaw was down in the corner, Flick skated over after the whistle and crosschecked the Attack forward.
A scuffle involving players on both teams broke out and when Shaw got to his feet, he fired a punch at DeSousa who was engaged at the time with another Attack player.
The blow by Shaw caught the unsuspecting DeSousa in the face, knocking DeSousa down and drawing blood.
Shaw was assessed a match penalty for roughing, banished from the remainder of the game and could miss the remainder of the series and potentially a portion of the Memorial Cup.
