The Owen Sound Sonics Major Midget Girls Basketball club participated in the Guelph CYO All-Star tournament this weekend.
In the round robin portion the Sonics went 2 and 1.
The Sonics defeated the Durham Swish (Oshawa area) 42 – 25. Christine Clark led the offence with 12 points and Carrie Davenport had 11.
The second win was over the host squad Guelph CYO 36 – 15. Carrie led
the offence with 10 points. Keisha Jacques added 8 and Georgia Ottewell 6.
The loss was 57 – 34 to Niagara Thunder. Keshia led the offence with 7 points. Becky McTeer was strong defensively with 11 rebounds and 4 points.
That left the Sonics in second place in their division and facing a playoff game against the other Niagara Falls team the Red Raiders. who scored a 43 – 26 win. Christine Clark with 5 points led the offence.
