The process of revitalizing the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League is well underway.
Over the last three seasons, the Attack have finished 8th, 9th & 8th again in the Western Conference, and were eliminated from the playoffs on Wednesday night as the Windsor Spitfires completed a 4 game sweep.
Attack Head Scout & Assistant General Manager Ian MacLellan states the club is making progress and he believes the next few years will be fruitful for the club.
MacLellan points to a half dozen younger players who were the cornerstones of the Owen Sound club this year.
He believes the responsibility they carried will make them even better for next year.
MacLellan also points to a number of players who completed solid rookie seasons with the Attack and should be more significant contributors next season.
Owen Sound will draft 9th in the OHL Priority Selection in May.
MacLellan believes Owen Sound will be able to select 3 players who can play immediately next season.
While defence appears to be a priority for the club, MacLellan stresses there is nothing set in stone to suggest Owen Sound will take a defender first.
Last year, the Attack picking at # 3 overall, were set on selecting Steven Shipley, as early as March.
This year MacLellan says there are too many variables picking 9th overall to suggest they will definitely get a specific player
