The Walkerton Hawks now find themselves down 3-0 in their Junior C quarterfinal series with the Alliston Hornets.
Another standing-room only crowd at the Walkerton Community Centre saw forward Ryan Algar score a hat trick in Allistons 6-4 win in Game 3.
Algars last two goals were scored in the third period, both times giving the Hornets the lead after the Hawks tied the game up at 3-3 and 4-4.
His third goal came with a 1:30 left in the third period.
Once again, the Georgian Mid-Ontario & defending Ontario champs scored first on a goal by Kyle McPherson in the first period.
The Hawks tied it up later in the period on a power play on the first of two goals from defenseman Kevin Czuczman.
Fellow rear guard Kevin Quincey scored early in the second giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead, the first time in this series that they had the lead in a game.
Algar scored the first of his three goals to tie the game at 2 then Mike Campeau put the Hornets ahead later in the period to give them a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.
Kurtis Brossard would add an empty-netter to seal the win.
Bill Terpstra had the other Walkerton goal.
Owen Sound Attack draft pick Chris Brown had 2 assists for the Hornets.
Breton MacKinnon got the start in goal for Alliston in place of Troy Dowswell and made 28 saves in the game.
Clayton Fritsch started in net for the Western League champs and turned away 30 shots.
The Hornets can sweep the series with a win in Game 4 tomorrow night at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex in Alliston.
