Eric Wellwood and Taylor Hall both scored a pair of goals as the Windsor Spitfires hammered the Owen Sound Attack 6-1 to take a 3-0 stranglehold on their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference quarter-final series.
Andrew Engelage made 29 saves to pick up his second win of the series.
Engelage, who set an OHL record with 46 wins in a single season, made his return to the Windsor net after allowing three goals on Owen Sound’s first three shots being pulled in game two after.
Wellwood continued his torrid scoring pace of late by notching Windsor’s first two goals of the game.
Dale Mitchell also scored in the opening 20 minutes for the Spitfires, who lead 3-1 after the first period.
Mike Lomas replied for the Attack in the first period, notching his 3rd goal of the series.
Scott Stajcer took the loss for Owen Sound but still made 47 saves.
The Attack power play went 0 for 8 on the game.
Taylor Hall notched his fifth and sixth goals of the series in the second period and former Attack Lane MacDermid also scored for Windsor.
