A painful start to the OHL playoffs for the Owen Sound Attack.
The Windsor Spitfires built a 5-0 lead on their way to a 7-4 victory over the Attack last night in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
Defencemen Rob Kwiet and Ryan Ellis each scored twice for the Spitfires who now have a 1 game to none lead in the series.
Attack goaltender Tyler Beskorowany left the game with an injury 7 minutes into the second period and was replaced in net by Scott Stajcer.
Gregg Nemisz, Eric Wellwood, and Taylor Hall rounded out the scoring for Windsor.
Owen Sound got goals from Joey Hishon, David Kolomatis, Mike Lomas, and Joe Vanni.
The series shifts to Owen Sound tomorrow night for Game 2 of this best-of-seven series.
Face off at the J-D McArthur Arena is 7:30 P.M.
