The Canadian Ski Racing Championships begin today at Beaupre, Quebec.
Owen Sound skier Larisa Yurkiw will be among the competitors this week at the championship.
Yurkiw is a member of Canada’s Alpine Ski team and has just completed her first season on the World Cup circuit.
Last weekend, Yurkiw won 3 races at the NorAm Cup in Lake Placid, New York.

The Ontario Hockey League named Logan Couture of the Ottawa 67s as the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week
Couture scored five goals and had eight points in three games last week.
Owen Sound Attack rookie Garrett Wilson is the Becker Shoes-Attacker of the Week
Wilson’s week was highlighted by a 2 point performance in a 3-2 win against his former team, the Windsor Spitfires
The Attack are at Windsor tomorrow night for game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series

Alliston Hornets 7 Penetanguishene Kings 4
Jason Campeau broke a 4-4 tie with a goal in the last minute of the 2nd period for Alliston
Owen Sound Attack draft pick Chris Brown was among the goal scorers for Alliston who built a 4-1 lead and then watched the Kings come back & tie the game.
With the win, the Hornets take the best of 7; 4 games to 2 and now advance to the Ontario Quarterfinal against either Hanover or Walkerton.
The Western Junior C Final resumes tonight at Hanover with the Walkerton Hawks holding a 3-2 lead.
Game 6 of the Western Final is tonight at 8:30 pm

The best of 7 series begins Saturday night at 8 pm in Shelburne.
