The Saugeen Shores Wintehawks have another opportunity to wrap up their quarter final Senior mens hockey series with Palmerston.
Tonight is game five in the best of seven affair with the Hawks ahead 3 games to 1.
Winterhawks head coach Don Matheson says he’s surprised to be where they are now in this series and never considered a sweep of the 81’s.
Matheson says a 4-game sweep would have been nice but the team let up last Sunday and now Palmerston is back in it.
He says the team just has to play a 60-minute game doing the little things that earn the win.
Matheson also gives credit to the fans who attend the games.
He says when you have up to 1,000 fans supporting you, it makes the players try even harder.
It’s why they wanted to end up in first place during the regular season—so they could have home ice advantage.
Tonight’s game goes at 8:30 at the Plex.
Should a 6th game be necessary, it will go this Sunday in Palmerston.
