A miraculous story from Alliston after several people came to a woman’s rescue as she gave birth in a hospital parking lot.
Jessica and her husband Rodrigo Silva arrived at Stevenson Memorial Hospital on July 16th after being assessed by local midwives.
That morning she had been assessed and was in the labour process but in the afternoon they decided it was time to head to the hospital.
After getting out of the car active labour started immediately and nurse Caroline Greason was nearby in a hospital screening trailer and came to their rescue.
The baby boy was born in the parking lot and a bystander, Pryanka Balley took the baby and wrapped him in a sweater, all before hospital staff came out to take over.
Jessica and Rodrigo thanked their “angels in disguise” Caroline and Pryanka for their quick thinking and going above and beyond.
