The Owen Sound Attack will host the Plymouth Whalers tonight in Ontario Hockey League action at the J.D. McArthur Arena in Owen Sound.
Tonight’s game is a make up game for a match that was wiped out by winter conditions in mid November.
Both teams are on win streaks coming into tonight’s game.
The Whalers, who are making a solid push for third in the Western Conference, have won 4 in a row.
The Attack, who are trying to nail down a playoff spot in the Western Conference, have won 3 in a row.
When the Whalers were initially scheduled to be in Owen Sound for the game in November, they were last in the Western Conference.
A coaching change to Mike Vellucci altered the Whalers fortunes and sent them on a upwards swing whereby they bypassed 7 other clubs in the Conference.
Vellucci coached Plymouth to the 2007 OHL title and that experience is vital to the success they are enjoying this season.
Attack coach Mark Reeds is aware of the Whalers surge, in particular their top forwards Matt Caria, Chris Terry & Tyler Seguin.
Game time tonight is 7 PM at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore in Owen Sound.
