The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks picked up where they left off in WOAA Senior mens hockey playoffs.
They took the first game of their quarter final series with the Palmerston 81’s, 5-3.
Winterhawks coach Don Matheson says last night’s game was one of the best his squad has played all season.
The club’s five goals came from five different scorers.
Matheson says the game got a little chippy but it’s to be expected in the playoffs, especially when teams meet for the first time and try to establish their turf.
Last night’s game was the first in a best of seven series.
The next game goes tomorrow night 8:30, in Palmerston.
Game three will be back at the Plex in Saugeen Shores next Friday.
