Grey County is waiting on the Province and the Federal Government to organize funding before it announces its 2020 budget.
Normally, the County adopts its budget as early as possible, but this time it will be deferred until February 7th.
In a report, County staff say they're waiting while the provincial government reviews funding for a number of departments.
In the meantime, staff are giving rough estimates of what kind of cash will be needed to run the County.
They estimate a net levy requirement of $59,930,000. That works out to an estimated tax increase of 1.46 per cent.
That means the County will have to collect $861,183 more than last year.
This is assuming the County's assessment growth (additions to the tax base through new builds, major renovations and property value changes) stays the same when MPAC releases its numbers for Grey County in December.
If the assessment growth calculated by MPAC is different from the County's estimated $1.8 million, then the tax increase could change.
