The Inaugural Grey Bruce VegFest hits Saugeen Shores tomorrow (June 13) and will showcase plantbased foods, mindful exercise and a variety of knowledgeable speakers.
Doris Kun organizer and owner of vegan restaurant the Pea Pod in Port Elgin says people will learn how “great” food can taste without meat products and “how much of an impact in the world you can make by eating a plant based diet”.
“We've got speakers talking about cannabis, plant based living, ethical travel, essential oils and all sorts of things,” says Kun.
Kun was inspired to create VegFest after attending another in Ontario and was happy to see vendors from Hamilton to Toronto wanting to be represented at the green event which features local establishments.
The event has been hyped on social media after it was announced activist James Espey who has been ranked “#3 among the 'Top 25 Most Influential Vegans' by Plant Based News,” will be closing the event.
The event takes place from 10-6. The cost is $5; no cost of entry for kids under 12.
