A business fixture in Meaford is gone!
Goudy Motors has been sold and the car dealership is now known as “Bayside Chrysler”.
The dealership has been around for decades.
In fact, Alex Goudy first started selling Ford vehicles in 1949 under the Goudy name.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting news, he was selling new cars back then for $1,600.
His son Don Goudy has been running a Chrysler dealership in Meaford since 1975 and says it is time to retire.
The new owner is Steve Jacklin who also owns Tom Smith Chevrolet in Midland.
New General Manager Mike Wiggins says the deal closed on Friday, December 1st.
He says it will remain a Chrysler dealership and the Goudy staff are being kept on.
Wiggins adds they will be adding inventory and adding a few sales people at the Meaford location.
