Kincardine’s new tourism marketing campaign has now been launched, just in time for the first holiday weekend of the summer season.
Kincardine Tourism Coordinator Kelly McDonald, in a presentation to Kincardine Committee of the Whole, says the campaign will see Kincardine’s registered Scottish tartan, sell what the community has to offer.
You may recall last year, the tongue-in-cheek sell line on billboards, was “Trust us, It’s Big,” with a picture of a kilt on a male.
This year, the sell line is “Pants Optional.”
McDonald says the campaign features Kincardine models enjoying various activities while wearing a Kilt, selling the unique Scottish heritage of the municipality.
She says the tourism group is also hosting a photo contest right now.
McDonald says the area has experienced a resurgence in requests for traditional post cards, so they’re getting ready to produce some, using photos taken by local residents that capture the essence of Kincardine.
More details can be found on the tourism Facebook page.
She says it’s going to be busy in the municipality with over 150 events already on the books for 2016.
Tourism Committee chair Councillor Mike Leggett says there is no doubt the huge line-up of activities is going to be a giant economic driver for the community.
